Often on a daily, I must test my limits between strength and fear while determining my boundaries between fiction and reality. If you met me on the street you may find it hard to believe what I am about to tell you. Many people are shocked to find out, I appear to be a healthy young women. My name is Madison Madrid, I am 21 years old, and I have Cystic Fibrosis, Type 1 Diabetes, and Liver Disease. I’ve seen the inside of many doctors’ offices and hospital rooms but one I will never forget is the place where I welcomed my pre-mature baby girl into the world and into my heart. I am the mama of a happy and healthy two-year-old girl named Paisley. My little miracle to say the least. Balancing my illness, fighting to stay healthy, and finding time for daily treatments and medications has never been easy since the day I was diagnosed. Diagnosed with CF at the age of 8 years old, followed by liver disease, and diabetes at 9 years old. It was a lot to take on as a child but I made it work and found a balance that my family and I could juggle. Although sometimes it was easy to feel discouraged, I continued to strive for a healthy lifestyle. A life I would want to fight for because of the positive, strong, and influential people in my life. Each and every person has helped shape my story and has given me strength in many different ways. I am so gratefully blessed to have this support system in my life. Being a mother has made my daily tasks much harder, but also that much more worth it. I am choosing to share my story with my family, friends, and anyone who might need a little hope. I am aiming to spread positivity and optimism to help those who may be struggling, or know someone going through a similar situation. Welcome to my blog, I hope you enjoy!
